Divorce

Is it really that bad? Bad enough for all if not most of the participants on Married at First Sight to swear that "Divorce is not an option" for them. Even though they have not met their future spouse, they can honestly say they trust the specialists to have found the perfect match for them?
That is something I would be so afraid of. They definitely have more courage and trust than I do. I do not think I could honestly say divorce was out of the question if I were in their shoes. Not only because marriage is tough and sometimes it just doesn't work, but because they have no control over who they are marrying. They are being completely set up... and what if they're set up to fail? Then what...

As it is you always hear that divorce rates are at 50%, although that 50% statistic is very misleading, if not completely wrong. The divorce rates are closer to 25% for all first-time marriages to end in a divorce. And those divorces do not involve the parties meeting each other for the first time when they're getting married in this so called social experiment.

I hope that my own marriage doesn't end up in a divorce, but I am also in no way shape or form going to stay in it if I'm unhappy or if that boy cheats...well if he were to become a cheater I wouldn't be a divorcee I would be a widow. (This can't be used as a threat!!)

So to say that divorce is out of the question is cray cray! But then again they're cray cray for even being on the show... that's not going to stop me from watching it though!

That's all I kept hearing throughout the matchmaking pre-show and even in the beginning of the first episode of  Married at First Sight  from all of the specialists. After a while it started to bug me. I mean how can something so important in one's life be called a social experiment?    But the 6 individuals were in no way shape or form bothered by the fact that they were going to be involved in a social experiment. They were all oh so very eager to become a part of this social experiment as if it were to save their lives. Especially... the women.  Why is that? Why is that we as humans NEED love... NEED marriage?  I mean love and marriage are amazing and I'm glad I have found both. But even if I wasn't in love or even if I wasn't married I do not think I would be jealous of my siblings and parents because they have a significant other, like o...

Chick Flicks Make History

What does the term chick flick mean to you? Are you into chick flicks? What have chick flicks done for the film industry? Have chick flicks always been called chick flicks? When I think of a chick flick I think of a movie I can see with all my girlfriends on a Girl’s Night In. I think of a movie starring a young attractive actress who meets the love her life only to be heartbroken but soon rescued by another guy she never thought she would fall for.  Chick Flicks are usually released around a holiday we all either love or hate. No, not Tax Day. It is actually Valentine's Day, the so called holiday invented by Corporate America. Despite the time of release, Chick Flicks targeted to young females who can relate to the life of the featured protagonist. As mentioned before there is always a protagonist who leads by example. She usually falls in love, becomes a successful individual or overcomes a great struggle. In many ways this featured hopeful gives aspirations for the millions of ...

You're not cute.

So how important are physical features in a relationship. Would you date someone ugly? Have you dated someone ugly? Are you ugly?  The first episode of Married at First Sight , definitely made me realize that physical attraction does mean a lot in a relationship. A lot of people can say that the physical chemistry is not all that matters. And I'm sure I've even said it. But if you were put in the situation where you were paired up to marry an ugly person would you do it? Would you have 2nd thoughts? Would you wait to find out what was in the inside before you swiped left? I know I would have, no shame, I know. Now I know my hubbie isn't the hottest guy around, we all know that title goes to Lil Wayne (bwahaha) but honestly if he looked ugly and not my type I would have never given him a chance nearly 5 years ago. Same goes with him. He most definitely would not have asked me to dan...
