Friend zone!

That evil and so horrendous moment when all the work and effort you put into getting it in has failed because you my friend have officially entered the   AHHHHHH! It's bad sometimes isn't it? What is one to do when you are placed into the friend zone and you're left without any control over your relationship status with your crush? In Married At First Sight, it is oh so obvious that Jaclyn has put Ryan R. in the friend zone. But how is that possible? They're MARRIED! Well even though they've said they're "I do's" and" til death part us's," they are nowhere near being soul-mates, not yet anyway... I too have been quick to put my significant other into thee friend zone, like Jaclyn did. I actually did it with my now husband Jaime. It took me a good 2 years to release him from that deadly zone. But all things are worth waiting for, right babe?! Have you put someone in the friend zone? Why? Or better yet have you been ...

Am I supposed to be a "Mexican" wife?

So I'm Mexican American. My dad was born and raised in Mexico and made his way over to the U.S. as a young adult. My mom was born and raised in Southern California and both her parents were born and raised in Mexico. I am quite Mexican. And how does being Mexican play a part of me being a wife? My hubbie is Mexican American just like me. His family ties to Mexico almost mirror mine. How does being Mexican play a part in his hubbie duties?  In Married At First Sight , there are couples who have different religious beliefs and cultures. They were open minded and did not feel like having the same family background was essential.  This is such a beautiful thing! To begin a relationship there are many contributing factors to who your ideal type is. Race and culture sometimes play part in this. And then you add in your family's wishes on who they want this person to be and what family b...

I feel like I've known you FOREVER.

I feel this immense connection with him. I have to have known him from somewhere. But how we barely met a couple hours ago. But we have so much in common. He makes me laugh. He tells me I understand him. Wow did we just say the same thing at the same time?  Weird! Those are the words that so many of the participants in Married At First Sight gushed about to the cameras in last week's episode. Were those feelings sincere or were they just caught in the moment?  Can you truly feel like you've know someone for an eternity within days or hours or even minutes of actually meeting that person?  I feel like that is true to a certain extent, but then again I think that feeling of being caught in the moment is often intertwined with the feeling of knowing someone for an eternity which leads to feeling that immense connection. I think some people get caught up and just because they grew up watching the same cartoon they ...

Sex vs. Love

Do you prefer sex? Or making love? Or better yet baby making love? Is there really a difference between sex and making love? If so what is it? Ok don't answer that...Stop with your gross details! But seriously. What are the rules nowadays about when is the "right time" to have this type of intimacy with a partner. I would think that by the time you marry your partner both parties should be more than ready to engage in sexual activity the night of. But... What if you just got married to a stranger. You're now husband and wife, so should you consummate the marriage the first night?  In Married At FIrst Sight , 2 out of the 3 couples felt that instant physical chemistry the second they saw each other. Both Davina & Sean and Jessica & Ryan D. knew the specialists had done the job right matching their physical preferences when they saw each other.  There was no doubt the physical attraction was the...

Where will we live?

Finding a home has it's up and downs and dodging of bullets (if you don't research the neighborhood well enough) and a case of headaches all on its own, but throw in a marriage into the mix and it adds just that much more. The one question that make take more than a few minutes to ponder over is... Where will we live? What if your spouse is originally from the other side of town or another state? What if your job has caused you to move away from your parents, but now you feel like it's the perfect time to move closer to them? In the second episode of Married At First Sight (the 2nd season) , Jaclyn and Ryan R. already had a bumpy start with Jaclyn not being attracted to Ryan R. at all and she sure did not have an ounce of fear to share that with the cameras. But on top of all that she's in love with her job as a sales representative for a popular vodka brand in  New Jersey. Her now husband is from L...

You're not cute.

So how important are physical features in a relationship. Would you date someone ugly? Have you dated someone ugly? Are you ugly?  The first episode of Married at First Sight , definitely made me realize that physical attraction does mean a lot in a relationship. A lot of people can say that the physical chemistry is not all that matters. And I'm sure I've even said it. But if you were put in the situation where you were paired up to marry an ugly person would you do it? Would you have 2nd thoughts? Would you wait to find out what was in the inside before you swiped left? I know I would have, no shame, I know. Now I know my hubbie isn't the hottest guy around, we all know that title goes to Lil Wayne (bwahaha) but honestly if he looked ugly and not my type I would have never given him a chance nearly 5 years ago. Same goes with him. He most definitely would not have asked me to dan...

Divorce

Is it really that bad? Bad enough for all if not most of the participants on Married at First Sight to swear that "Divorce is not an option" for them. Even though they have not met their future spouse, they can honestly say they trust the specialists to have found the perfect match for them? That is something I would be so afraid of. They definitely have more courage and trust than I do. I do not think I could honestly say divorce was out of the question if I were in their shoes. Not only because marriage is tough and sometimes it just doesn't work, but because they have no control over who they are marrying. They are being completely set up... and what if they're set up to fail? Then what... As it is you always hear that divorce rates are at 50%, although that 50% statistic is very misleading, if not completely wrong. The divorce rates are closer to 25% for all first-...
